San Gabriel
The brewery
San Gabriel brewery founded in 1997, is birth from an idea by the beersommelier Gabriele Tonon, graduated at Doemens academy of Munich in Bayer. The production began in an ancient mansion at Busco in Ponte di Piave village just beside the Benedictine abbey where in middle ages healing drinks were prepared and beer was one of them.
The work is executed with modern technologies, but according to the instructions of Pureness Edict, issued in Bayer during the Renaissance Age, in order to guaranteeing the absolute and highest naturalness of the golden drink.

Ingredients
The basic ingredients choice is our priority…
Water is the basic element of the beer, and San Gabriel exploits a near natural treasure: the river Piave. The sources of the water with which San Gabriel's beer is produced, the springs of the River Piave, are situated in the territory of San Polo di Piave, in the same place where Lia is birth, the Templar's river. In this location in the eleventh century, the Order of the Templar knights founded an enclave among the most important in Italy.
Barley is the soul of the beer and just for this reason we take a lot of care of our grains… For evaluating more the tipical characteristic, naturalness and quality of our production, since 2006 San Gabriel Company has begun the experimental farming in the fields presents in Treviso countryside of couplet barley for producing beer.
The hop, in Venetian dialect “bruscandoeo”, grows wild along the hedges of our country and gives the aroma to the beer. The Monks, since the antiquity, understood the extraordinary peculiarities of this appreciated plant; further to be an element that transmit bitterness to the must, it owns properties that enrich the foam and it is also a natural conservative.
Radicchio, chestnuts, fig-trees fruit and pumpkins are excellences of the Venetian country. The use of grass and fruit it goes up again to the ancient tradition of the “medical beers”; following those ancient recipes, with the use of the crisp Radicchio Rosso of Treviso and tasty autumn fruits, San Gabriel creates the seasonal beers rich of extraordinary fragrances

Beers
Venetian tradition, , Bayer soul...
The world of beer production is a fascinating one jointed to ancient tradition, but is required a constant research, full care about the fundamental ingredients and more and more advanced technologies. Naturalness and quality of beer that has always been our main target continuously stimulate us to a hard development work
Since 1997, the precious receipts, the handcraft San Gabriel beers are produced with, have been coming from the experiences grown in Bayer and Austrian breweries.
In 2004, having sold very well pushed us to increase more and more our efforts. So a very important collaboration with a very refined technician of beer named Stefan Grauvgol began and nowadays the great German beer tradition is an integral part of San Gabriel production that has the full intention to follow the historical Venetian breweries tradition
